Overview

Philosophy of care

My desire when practicing medicine is not only to address the patient's immediate concerns but also to listen and empower them. I use evidence-based medicine to guide and support my patients in achieving optimal health outcomes and in enhancing their quality of life.

I'm originally from Texas but I look forward to establishing my roots in the PNW. I enjoy being outdoors, traveling to new places, reading history books, and playing with my cats. I chose a career in medicine as it offers a personal and tangible way to benefit others.

Dr. Macaluso explained his reasoning very clearly. I asked him a few questions and he was able to answer them succinctly to my satisfaction. I was in a lot of pain and he offered a few options. I appreciate his time to see me in such a short notice & when I was in a lot of pain.

He was very thorough and easy to talk to.I felt comfortable talking to him and asked him to be my regular physician.

He was extremely disinterested, did not give me anything for my pain, came across as very condescending, kept asking me the same question multiple times. Made me feel like my concerns were not valid

The Dr. I saw seemed more concerned about his license than giving medical advice. E.g., When I asked if I should have a colonoscopy because the previous one noted I should come back in 5-10 years based on findings, he said it was my decision, and when I pressed for a recommendation, his answer was to see another doctor. He also did not review the forms I had filled in to discuss the areas I wanted to discuss and generally came off as dismissive.

Doctor seemed to just breeze over some off my concern.

This was my first appointment, so I was surprised he had as much information as he did. That was especially helpful as I forgot my blood pressure and cholesterol medications to show him what was needed to refill. I declined having labwork as I did not force fluids or a wear loose top. I will inquire if he would like blood work draw next time and will schedule an appointment so I can get in, have the blood draw, and then get to a bathroom before I embarrass myself and soil your nice clean facility
