A Q&A with Christopher Cannon, MD

Achieving and maintaining good health are a bit different for everyone, including health care providers. In this series, we spotlight a Polyclinic provider’s approach to physical and mental health.

Dr. Christopher Cannon is an orthopedic surgeon. His areas of expertise include cancerous and noncancerous tumors of the soft tissues and bones, total joint replacements and partial knee replacements.

What are your go-to healthy foods?

An apple a day…

What are your splurge foods?

Fried chicken!

What are some of your favorite ways to move?

I like to walk, so I do it as often as I can.

What reminds you to take care of your health?

When I was in medical school, there wasn’t a lot of emphasis on exercise and nutrition. Most of what I’ve learned came from outside my formal medical education. I spent five years working at a cancer hospital, so mostly I learned to be grateful for what I have.

How do you practice self-care?

Exercise and getting outside, even if just for a stroll.
