Dr. Kim earned a medical degree from the University of Illinois, College of Medicine in Chicago. Following medical school, Dr. Kim completed an internship and residency in general surgery at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, where he was appointed Chief Surgical Resident at Los Angeles County Medical Center, General Hospital. He served overseas as Specialist Registrar in surgery at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth, England, and returned to complete a fellowship in vascular & endovascular surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio.
Dr. Kim specializes in minimally invasive vascular surgery, percutaneous endovascular intervention, carotid artery surgery & stenting, laser vein treatment, and endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm repair. He also has an interest in thoraco-abdominal aortic repair/reconstruction, and peripheral artery bypass. Dr. Kim is fluent in Korean.

Dr. Kim has been a clinical instructor at LAC+USC Medical Center, Los Angeles and serves on the teaching faculty at Swedish Medical Center.
