Gynecologic Care
The OB/GYN group at The Polyclinic provides patients with personalized, comprehensive gynecologic care. Areas of specialty include:
- Annual pelvic and breast exams, routine PAP smears
- Evaluation and treatment of abnormal PAP smears

Obstetrics at The Polyclinic
The board certified obstetricians at The Polyclinic provide patients with experienced, compassionate, and comprehensive obstentrics care, including:
- Prenatal visits
- Comprehensive diagnostic laboratory testing
- Complete maternity care and delivery
- Ultrasound and fetal monitoring
- Management of low- and high-risk pregnancies, and pregnancies after age 35
- Cesarean deliveries (C-Section) and operative vaginal deliveries, when indicated

Our goals are to provide you with personalized care and attention during pregnancy and childbirth, to help you feel comfortable with the birth process and decisions you make regarding your experience, and to inform you by providing relevant articles and handouts on pregnancy, childbirth, and newborn care.
In addition to routine lab tests conducted during your first prenatal visit, the following tests may be recommended or performed later in your pregnancy.
For your convenience, many of these tests are available at The Polyclinic and can be done during your regular office visits:
- Prenatal risk profile – A blood test usually taken between 16-20 weeks to screen for Down’s syndrome and for fetal spinal cord defects (such as spina bifida).
- CBC – A blood count to check for anemia, usually done between 26 and 28 weeks.
- HIV testing – This is a test for the virus that causes AIDS.
- Ultrasound – A sound-wave image of your baby usually performed between 18-22 weeks and at your physician’s discretion.
- Other tests as needed, including non-stress testing, biophysical profile, etc.
