According to the American Cancer Society, over 60,000 individuals will be diagnosed with melanoma this year. Characterized by the uncontrolled growth of pigment-producing cells, melanoma is the most serious form of skin cancer, accounting for 80 percent of all skin cancer deaths. If detected in its early stages, however, melanoma is highly curable.
The Polyclinic has added nutritional services to its offering of health care specialties with the addition of a dietitian, Meghann Moore Mellon, MPH, RD, CD. She is available to see patients at both The Polyclinic’s First Hill and downtown locations.
The Polyclinic’s Lipid Clinic provides education and management of lipid or cholesterol disorders for patients who have had a heart attack or stroke, and those who want to prevent one. The Polyclinic is collecting coats for kids in need, November 26th – December 23rd. Patients, doctors, employees and members of the community can drop off new or gently used coats at any of our 10 locations in the Seattle area.
The Polyclinic and 95.7 KJR FM have teamed up to help kids in our community stay warm. All donations will benefit the TreeHouse organization for foster children.
