You may have seen news stories about the national recall of several lots of contaminated steroid injections that are linked to a meningitis outbreak. Three drug lots of the steroid methylprednisolone acetate, produced at the New England Compounding Center in Framingham, Mass., are believed to have been contaminated.
Please be assured that The Polyclinic does not carry, and never has carried, any of these lot numbers, nor do we receive any products from this compounding company that appears to be the source of the contamination. Patients who have received steroid injections or will receive these injections at any Polyclinic location are NOT at risk.
