In April, State Secretary Mary Selecky declared that Washington is experiencing a pertussis (whooping cough) epidemic after more than 1,100 cases had been reported throughout the state. Pertussis is easily spread by coughing or sneezing, and it causes severe coughing spells that make it hard for a child to eat, drink, or even breathe.

More than 120 physician practices and clinicians have relocated from several First Hill locations to the contemporary nine-story building at the corner of 7th and Madison.

Madison-Center-Exteriors

The relocation of many physician offices and services to The Polyclinic Madison Center is progressing right on schedule, with the third wave of moves taking place the weekend of April 28.  During the months of April and May, dozens of practices are moving from their First Hill locations to the new clinic at 7th and Madison, just east of I-5.  This consolidation of services will allow patients to receive primary care and many specialty services under one roof, as well as lab and diagnostic imaging.
