Board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Echocardiography, and Nuclear Cardiology.
Education:
Dr. Huehnergarth earned his medical degree from Albany Medical College in New York and completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine where he also completed a fellowship in cardiology and served as chief fellow.
Special Interests:
Dr. Huehnergarth’s practice encompasses all areas of heart disease, from preventative cardiology to advanced forms of heart disease such as coronary artery disease and heart failure. Dr. Huehnergarth is the director of the Lipid Clinic at the Polyclinic and he has particular interest in evaluation for risk factors and early stage heart disease and helping to prevent the onset or progression of heart disease. Dr. Huehnergarth is also the medical director of the Echocardiography Laboratory at Swedish Medical Center and he has a particular interest in echocardiography and other forms of non-invasive cardiac imaging.
Practice Philosophy:
"I enjoy caring for patients at all points in the cardiovascular disease process- from disease prevention to cardiac catheterization. I strive to educate patients to help them understand the basis, consequences and treatment of cardiovascular disease. I believe that through an understanding of heart disease and treatment options, patients are empowered to be advocates of their own health which leads to improved health outcomes."
