Dr. Sheets received her medical degree from Michigan State University. She then completed an internal medicine internship and residency at Virginia Mason Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in rheumatology at the University of Washington. Dr. Sheets also conducted research in molecular biology and has published and presented her work at scientific meetings of the American College of Rheumatology.
Dr. Sheets is an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of arthritis and related disabling disorders of the joints, muscles and bones. Dr. Sheets’ special interests include the testing and treatment of osteoporosis, inflammatory arthritis, connective tissue diseases, degenerative processes of aging and acute musculoskeletal injuries. Some of the specific conditions she treats are:

- Ankylosing spondylitis
- Psoriatic arthritis
- Polymyalgia rheumatica
- Sjogren’s syndrome
- Connective tissue disease

Dr. Sheets serves on the public policy committee of the International Society of Clinical Densitometry. She is a founding board member of the Washington Osteoporosis Coalition.
